the new timbaland album is simply********(sorry cant blog this word) ... albeit its lyrics are polluted to the extreme. he has this song " bombay" which will make bollywood a thousand times more worldly popular, and his song where he features fall out boy makes fall out boy and their emo rockness much more palatable.

so here's a snapshot at the rolling stones review of SHOCK VALUE.

Timbaland can do whatever he wants. After the great hip-hop producer’s huge year in 2006, everyone and your grandmother wants to work with him. And on Shock Value, almost everyone does: 50 Cent, Justin Timberlake, Fall Out Boy, the Hives and Elton John make appearances, among others. For the most part, the guests leave plenty of room for Timbaland to do his thing. But on Shock, Timbaland’s thing isn’t quite what you’d hope.

Shock Value doesn’t feel as random and indistinct as many albums by producers using all-star lineups do: The entire disc has a dark, futuristic mode, with Tim using rhythm instruments like riffs and giving you beat candy in different flavors; even his rhymes don’t get in the way too much. On “Release,” Tim and Timberlake work up disco that sounds a bit like “SexyBack,” in a good way. The seductive “Oh Timbaland” seems to groove sideways and straight ahead at once. “Bombay” splits the difference between Bollywood and synth pop, and “Scream” rides a thumping, guitar-specked beat that deserves to have a better tune attached.

Shock Value sags toward the second half: The Fall Out Boy and Hives songs show that Timbaland has moved past the novelty stage of working with rock bands, but just barely. (The She Wants Revenge-assisted “Time” has a cool New Wave gloss, though.) The guests’ main job is usually just to adorn whatever Tim has in mind, which makes sense – no one can say he doesn’t have lots of ideas floating around that big noggin. But for now, those ideas sound better on the radio, not on this album.

and what the world's all waiting for-- is i guess, for timbaland the wack music producer to team up with the most provocatively political and smart rapper kanye west : ) and hit it to the spot.

ive decided that i wanna join jazz and be really pro at it (okay im a bit far from that) and that rj isnt so bad after all, so much for the hidden talent and these amazing friends around me that im so immensely blessed with.

i give thanks to the LORD, for having blessed me so abundantly, especially in the past few months. So i studied as a testimony to God, and now i want to give all the honour to him because nothing could be done without him and his immense patience with me the non-mugger.

and now let the weak say i am strong
let the poor say i am rich
because of what the LORD has done for us.

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the holy one
Give thanks for he's given Jesus Christ, his son! GIVE THANKS :D

and i forgot to add this:

This is what my options taught me so far... that fairytales are so much more than happy endings, disney fun and didactic stories. but they are complexly linked with the storyteller's culture, and may be extremely violent like in versions of beauty and the beast where the girl throws the frog on the wall, or extremely erotic like ZOMG that story of little red riding hood, or crudely gory like in the Blue Beard.

I think today's lesson was amazing especially what mr sakhar said about the "opportunistic woman" and the blame placed upon her (because she is a woman) e.g. in the blue beard or even in snow white where snow white out of curiosity opens the door for the evil step mother and eats the poisonous apple and dies. he compared the "curious girl" prototype to eve in Genesis and pandora, who through curiously opening the box brought harm to mankind. That in itself gave so much depth to the fairytale.

most of all, reliving your childhood through fairytales in options is just <3.>

went out with yuan + poo + dora and played zong ji mi ma, and had to eat twice like a mixture of pepper, garlic, chilli, sweet sauce and rice -_-

haha a few cool things happened today!
1. I was going down the escalator and tying my shoe laces and dora and yi yun were behind then i saw the ground coming and i screamed, then this REALLY hot ang moh guy started laughing. HAHA and just that incident got the three of us thrilled, with dora testifying like 10 mins later that she looked into his eyes -_- fine, we're too shallow. Dian and fads had a better experience, though, with this group of REALLY hot ang moh people seriously checking them out : )

2. OPTIONS! I love fairy tales. And i miss my childhood, well if i ever had one. Apparently im the only one around here who hasn't read aladdin and can't narrate that story. And im not too sure about beauty and the beast either, except some pretty girl falls in love with an animal with a good heart. But today's analysis of red riding hood was really refreshing : )

3. I GOT A NEW PHONE! It's a little warped now, but yeah my mum got me this 6288. It's much less pretty than the new slender Samsung phone that i just got, but i guess its more functional. Then later yi yun told me i got the exact same model that fads has and in the same colour -_-. so here it is:

anyway, i promise a little red riding hood story, or some fairy tale related thing in my next post. i had this idea of making the red in the hood of little red riding hood something related to communism in china. Hence the little red riding hood will represent the leftists and wolf will be the rightist anticommunists. OKAY IM GETTING BORING. anyway, everyone DONT GO YUAN's BLOG! options! and the cool week : )
:D:D just got notice from the crystal chng that options are out! and so i am going to finally break my hiatus. i say im rather happy with my options, except.... WHY AM I IN CHINA STUDIES? grr, oh well.

but before my visit to the inet, i went KAP MACs with the cool 6F people :) and had caught up with things after like four whole years. and we all concluded that firstly, ive been lame since primary school and secondly, that serene yap has everlasting coolness and thirdly, that joelyn looks like a metal head and fourthly, shanise ho's mickey mouse watchseriously isnt worth that 15.99 lol. Anyway, the mention of Audrey Ho's famous think tank and thinkrees made us so nostalgic. : )

today was cooler, but wed was just as cool :) cos we took mrt all the way to tanjong pagar for peanut ice kachang! me and yuan's idea, haha. but we bought the peanut ice kachang from the wrong stall, and ate lor mee loaded with too much vinegar.

and then we tripped for the amazing muffins and doughnuts nearby.

and after the foodhunt, so i saw the doughnut ad on msn and here's a picture i got from one of the most famous stalls in US. wah serious food porn

2. my sister's leaving again, on sunday.

3. i have to wait till after week four math and perhaps hci os to finally get a facebook and go shopping .

CONSOLATION! post exam schedule! (and my apologies for not posting lately)

1. go out with 412-ers !!! and crash orchard+marina+ every mrt station
2. 5 o clock date with naomi yang and cheryl moh, haha watching secret with them (whom had requested for me to treat them to MOS like, two weeks ago. haha but im really looking forward to it okay!)
3. finish prison break season two!
4. go shopping, like alot with the sister and whoever and arathi!
5. extreme makeovers (valerie koh and crystal watch out... )
6. yah, fine, go buy prom dress (or get my sister to ship one over from the uk)
7. listen to more and more jay chou and jjlin everyday to improve chinese.
8. AH I CANT HAVE FORGOTTEN THIS ONE! finally go read HP 7...
